Before heading out to visit family and friends for the holiday season, make sure your vehicle will get you safely over the
winter roads to your destination with quality truck or auto service. Don't hesitate to ask your auto shop to perform a standard courtesy inspection that
could help prevent a roadside emergency and derail your trip! The auto services performed can be literal lifesavers in snowy or icy conditions. Don't spend
your holiday in an auto shop!

Even if your vehicle receives a clean bill of health, be prepared for the unexpected. It is hard to predict the weather, road
closures, or accidents that could interrupt your travel plans. Here are four important tips provided by a truck and auto shop that will help you stay safe
during your holiday travels:
1. Scheduled Auto Service: Be sure to have all fluids checked, changed, or topped-off as needed
(i.e., anti-freeze/coolant mixture, brake and transmission). Use high-quality filters--they are worth the extra cost. Inspect the brake system, including
rotors, pads and calipers. Make sure all the exterior and interior lights are working properly. New bulbs only cost a few dollars and are easy to install. If
the windshield wiper blades are more than six months old, go ahead and replace them, and don't forget to fill the washer fluid reservoir.
2. A Clean Car: Cleaning out the interior of your car makes for a more comfortable trip. All-
weather floor mats will help protect your carpets and are easy to clean or replace. Clean the windows so nothing obstructs your view. Remove unnecessary
items from the trunk and backseat to increase fuel efficiency (and to make room for all your holiday food and gifts).
• Check the tires: Be sure the tires have the correct air pressure. Check them for wear,
and rotate if necessary. If there are cracks or bulges, or if the tread is worn too thin, you may need to purchase new tires. Don't forget to check the spare
too!
3. Inspect the Radiator: Make sure the anti-freeze mixture is adequate for colder or freezing
temperatures, and the hoses checked for cracks or bulges.
Not only can you make that drive to Grandma's house worry-free, these truck and auto service tips can significantly increase
your gas mileage and driving performance!
