Oil Changes: Can I use Recycled Oil in my Vehicle?

Why is there such mystery surrounding motor oil? This is due to the fact that motor oil is a complex, heavily researched, continuously improved, and extensively tested product. To us humans, it all looks feels, smells and, we assume, tastes the same, but engines can tell the difference in the various weights, quality, and freshness.

If you are looking for quality Tune ups Milton-Freewater OR your search can be over now with our Wentland Diesel & Auto Repair Services Milton-Freewater OR shop. Also find Oil change Milton-Freewater OR services with us.

Here are a few facts about the use of recycled versus new for oil changes:

    *      Recycled is NOT inferior in quality to new—
o The refining processes today are the same for recycling as used for crude refining. These newer refining techniques yield high quality base oil that is equal to crude refining. Many brands now use the highest quality of recycled oil and formula for engine performance that exceeds the specification set by the automotive industry

    *      Recycled does NOT void engine warranties —
o The use of recycled products that have been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) have been approved by almost all major vehicle manufacturers. Because the protection of name-brand recycled oils exceeds all API specifications, they can be safely used and will not void engine warranties.

    *      Recycled does NOT require more frequent oil changes —
o Because recycled oil has the same performance and protection qualities as regular, vehicle owners can follow their vehicle’s oil change intervals just like for all other kinds of oil.

    *      Recycled can be mixed with regular—
o Because the characteristics of recycled are the same as new, and are fully compatible, the two can be safely mixed.

    *      You can switch to a recycled motor oil—
o It is generally not a problem if it is necessary to change from regular to recycled and back.

A Tip to Remember about Oil Changes: Just a few dollars and a few minutes every 90 days or 3,000 miles will keep your vehicle driving smoothly down the road.
